VOLUME 10—ISSUE 1 37 THE ORIGINAL RELOCATION GUIDE — UPSTATE SC | VOLUME 11 — ISSUE 1 GREER award by the Upstate Hospitality Association (a proponent of downtown business and the growth of Greer). Clark's is the frst restaurant operation to require staff to take CPR training for both BIN112 and The Strip Club 104 A Steak House in downtown. To ensure the freshest quality Clark ages his own meats, barrels bourbon, and does some of the cooking. "Greer set a record in retail sales tallying $843,576,165 in gross retail sales during fscal year 2014, which is the fourth consecutive year of a new high mark," said Mark Owens, President and CEO Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce. "We are excited about the continued growth of the Greater Greer area while we also recognize the great history of our community. It is unique and amazing to have some businesses more than 100 years old operating right next door to a startup company. Greer is home to international manufacturers and small retailers alike that create an authentic place to open your business." Owens stated other amenities such as housing choices and lifestyle are draws for new residents. "Residential growth in Greer is booming right now with new construction, renovation of historical neighborhoods, and unique downtown loft living," said Owens. "A beautiful city park anchors a walkable downtown that features award-winning restaurants, award-winning parks, and some great specialty retail shops. Our strong schools and recreation department adds another reason to make Greer your home." Greer might be small in size but the town has proven to be big on progress and success. The town of 25,000 has large city amenities and a friendly atmosphere that entices visitors and businesses to the downtown. Restaurant openings, a new port and continued industry expansions validate that Greer has something for everyone and a taste for every palette. But the small town atmosphere and friendliness is the magnet attracting newcomers. []
