Today, the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary still calls Wake Forest's downtown home. Small town residents know how to relax and enjoy themselves and Wake Forest is no exception. There are many opportunities for getting out on the town throughout the year. For the best in cultural oferings, check out the Wake Forest Historical Museum or the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, both accessible in the walkable downtown. The Renaissance Center includes 10,000 square feet of commercial space and ofers a variety of cultural events, including concerts, plays, exhibits and recitals. With a 12,000-acre lake and 26,000 acres of woodlands, Falls Lake State Recreation Area ofers a choice of recreation areas and activities. The lake ofers fshing, boating and swimming, and on the land, you can enjoy walking, mountain biking or camping along a portion of the state's Mountains-to-Sea Trail. For the sports enthusiast, The Factory ofers ice rinks, a skate park, indoor soccer, an infatable playground, miniature golf and go-carts, while Heritage Golf Club, Brevofeld Golf Links and Paschal Golf Club ofer really great golf any time of the year. The Wake Forest Farmers' Market has grown into a lively community event each Saturday morning.
