THE ORIGINAL RELOCATION GUIDE—TRIAD NC | VOLUME 14—ISSUE 1 48 SCHOOL PROFILES The Piedmont School The Piedmont School has served the Triad for over 30 years, providing a wonderful educational environment for students with ADHD or other diagnosed learning diferences. It is our contention that all students can learn, but some just learn diferently. Most of our students come to us not understanding their own learning styles and a large part of what we do involves helping them step into a world of learning that may not have been available to them. The school's philosophy revolves around teaching content and teaching strategies to help students overcome their learning diferences. Low teacher/student ratios, emphasis on strategic learning, an unparalleled faculty, and the building of both academic and social confdence makes The Piedmont School the desired destination for students grades K-11 in the Triad who meet our mission. See our ad on page 46. Noble Academy At Noble Academy, we strongly believe that students with learning diferences and/or ADHD are as likely to be tomorrow's leaders as other students. Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, and Leonardo da Vinci were creative thinkers who forever changed the way we view our world and all three had learning diferences. Noble Academy ofers a college preparatory program that serves students in grades K-12. Our program focuses on small class sizes and a curriculum that is traditional, though infused with techniques and methodology proven to be successful with learning diferences. Noble Academy is committed to both the remediation of areas of weakness and the celebration of areas of strength. The Noble Academy experience provides the rigor, strategies, and self- advocacy skills necessary for successful transitioning to college, vocational- technical school, or the world of work. See our ad on page 53. Our Lady of Grace Catholic School Our Lady of Grace Catholic School has maintained tradition of academic excellence for over sixty years. We are dedicated to providing students in three year-old preschool through eighth grade with an academically- challenging curriculum. The majority of graduates are placed in advanced or honors programs during high school and are consistently among the top high school graduates in our area. We also added specifc programs to serve students with learning diferences. Students with learning disabilities in reading/writing can participate in our PACE program. Furthermore, we ofer the only Catholic program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in our area. As one family, we nurture the whole person to serve and lead with respect, dignity, and integrity. See our ad on page 52. New Garden Friends School New Garden Friends School is the Triad's only preschool through 12th grade guided by Quaker practice and built upon the long-held standards of rigorous Friends schools. Students are encouraged by word and example to respect the talents and perspectives of others, and to include them in a cooperative, rather than competitive search for knowledge. An NGFS education provides students with opportunities to think critically and communicate clearly, skills that will serve them well in college and beyond. • Low student-teacher ratio • Middles School, JV, and Varsity sports • Extended am & pm child care (K and up) • Suzuki Violin, Ensemble & Guitar • Drama & Dance Performing Arts • Service Learning curriculum • Summer and Winter programs • Financial Aid/payment plans See our ad on page 50.
