Airy, and Reidsville. In addition to afording resi- dents some excellent hospitals and medical research facilities, these cities and towns of the Piedmont showcase healthcare as being a large contributor to the North Carolina Triad economy and as such there are also numerous exceptional clinics, and medical ofces in the region. Cone Health is a not-for-proft network of health care providers serving people in Guilford, Forsyth, Rockingham, Alamance, Randolph, Caswell and sur- rounding counties with more than 11,000 employees, 1,300 physicians and 1,200 volunteers. Cone Health has been named a Top Workplace by Greensboro's News & Record, and has more than 100 locations, in- cluding six hospitals, three ambulatory care centers, three outpatient surgical centers, four urgent care centers, a retirement community, more than 75 physi- cian practice sites and multiple centers of excellence. These include primary and specialty care through the Cone Health Medical Group and Triad Healthcare Net- work. U.S. News & World Report recently ranked Cone Health one of the best hospitals in nine specialty areas: cardiology and heart surgery; diabetes and endocrinol- ogy; gastroenterology and GI surgery; geriatrics; gynecol- ogy; nephrology; neurology and neurosurgery; orthope- dics; and pulmonology. One of the Cone Health hospitals is the fagship of the group, The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Moses Cone Hospital is a 536-bed teaching hospital and referral center. It includes a Children's Emergency Department, Level II Trauma Center and centers for orthopedics, neu- rosciences, stroke, and heart and vascular care. Alamance Regional Medical Center, a 238-bed medical and surgical hospital in Alamance County, joined Cone Health just two years ago and specializes in heart and vascular, cancer and women's care as well as advanced imaging and surgi- cal services. Annie Penn Hospital with 110 acute care beds also has inpatient and short stay surgery centers, cancer care, heart care and specialty clinics such as a Sleep Disorders Center and an Endoscopy Center. Behav- ioral Health Hospital ofers pediatric and adult inpatient crisis stabilization at an 80-bed facility. Outpatient care includes numerous group therapy programs as well as individual counseling and day programs. Three additional outpatient Behavioral Health Centers also are located in Greensboro, Kernersville and Reidsville. Wesley Long Hospital's modern facility utilizes state-of-the-art equip- ment such as the da Vinci ® surgical robot system and the SpyGlass ® visualization system in the Endoscopy Center. The campus also provides cancer, sickle cell, sleep disor- ders, and wound and hyperbaric care. Women's Hospital is home to one of the area's most experienced neonatal intensive care teams. The hospital's Level II and Level III unit has been providing care to critically ill newborns since 1990. The hospital also houses the nationally ac- credited Breast and Ultrasound Imaging Center. Other medical services include Cone Health Medical Group (CHMG), a physician-lead network of specialty and primary care medical practices of more than 400 doc- tors and health care professionals at nearly 100 locations across the area. CHMG providers ofer primary care medi- cal services, including family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and urgent care, as well as specialty care such as cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, rheumatology, oncology, endocrinology, urology and general surgery.
