Brunswick Medical Center is nationally accredited by The Joint Commission, which is the gold standard in healthcare accreditation. It also voluntarily participates in several national programs to measure the quality and value of care. The Brunswick County Health Department in collaboration with Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center and other community partners established a community health assessment in 2011 to identify the most pressing health needs in the community. The 2011 community health assessment serves as the basis for Novant Health's Community Health Needs Assessment 2013 – 2015. Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center will use the data in the Community Health Needs Assessment to enhance the health of its community through health and wellness programming, clinical services and financial support. Pender Memorial Hospital gives residents of Pender and surrounding counties a convenient and friendly place to receive a wide range of services. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 by the same physicians who provide emergency care at NHRMC and Cape Fear Hospital. The hospital also has rehabilitation and diagnostic facilities and a surgical and endoscopy center. Pender Memorial Hospital's Skilled Nursing Unit provides a comfortable and caring environment for residents who need long-term care and help with daily activities. The Swing Bed Unit offers Medicare patients short-term rehabilitation before leaving the hospital. The hospital also offers area residents outpatient rehabilitation and diagnostic services, including digital mammography and DEXA scans, at PMH Health and Diagnostics in Rocky Point. Onslow Memorial Hospital is a 162-bed facility located in coastal North Carolina. With the exception of Brynn Marr Psychiatric Hospital and the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune, Onslow Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in the City of Jacksonville and Onslow County. Onslow Memorial Hospital is also nationally accredited by The Joint Commission.
